If you are having trouble getting the care you need because of your insurance, you are not alone. For people insured through the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplace in 2019, insurance companies denied one out of every five all in-network claims. Some denied more than half of all claims!
We know insurance companies can make mistakes, and sometimes deny claims that should not have been denied. But only 0.2% of all claims that were denied on the ACA Marketplace were appealed.
